OPEN POSITIONS:
Position Title: RETAIL SALES MANAGER –Mid Atlantic/Northeast
Department: Sales
Reporting relationships: Reports to Director of Retail Sales
Job Summary: Working out of home office in Mid Atlantic or Northeastern US, under minimal supervision, sells Orca Bay products to supermarket/grocery store chains and major retail warehouses in assigned region.
Essential Functions:
- Meet & exceed company sales growth and margin objectives by promoting and selling company products (Branded/Private Label & Commodity/Value Added) through grocery/mass merchandise retailers, wholesalers and distributors. Provides customers with price quotations and information regarding delivery and service.
- Sells commodity items on a weekly basis through direct customer contacts.
- Evaluates and identifies “account specific” new product opportunities.
- Maintains weekly contact with warehouse and distributor buyers.
- Monitors customer sales and procedures to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Develops and manages “account specific” quarterly programs to increase sales in territory and meet profitability objectives; targeting existing accounts and new accounts (thru cold calls)..
- Manage, monitor and evaluate assigned retail brokers. Train and educate broker sales force on Orca Bay products. Assist with sales calls. Provide recommendations to appoint and terminate brokers when necessary.
- Responds to and resolves consumer complaints in a timely fashion.
- Conducts product demonstrations and training as necessary.
- Working knowledge of Nielsen & Symphony IRI data to evaluate category performance.
- Attends food shows to promote and sell company products as needed.
- Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of Retail Sales & Marketing.
Secondary Responsibilities, Duties:
- Train other sales team members on retail products and broker programs.
- Assist Customer Service Representatives with updating and maintaining files on brokers/customers.
- Assists customer service with delivery issues or product recalls when necessary.
Minimum Requirements
Education: AA degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of frozen category retail grocery sales experience. Frozen seafood sales experience a plus.
Knowledge and Skills: Intermediate level proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Requires excellent time management skills, and written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast paced work environment. Requires professional demeanor for constant interaction with numerous internal and external contacts.
Working Conditions: Typical office environment with moderate noise levels. Work functions require ability to meet multiple and competing project deadlines in a fast paced work environment with numerous interruptions. This position requires extended hours due to seasonal business demands. Requires travel to brokers, customers, and food shows on a monthly basis, or more frequently as needed.
Physical Requirements: Normal hearing, good speaking voice and clear enunciation. Requires sitting for extended periods of time and ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Requires occasional travel.
